know us
We are Laura Mitchell and Nate Barton. Artists and art educators from Western North Carolina. On the heels of the devastation from Hurricane Helene we launched an effort to bring comfort through creativity to as many young people as possible.
Our goal is to get a set of 10 art kits to every school counselor in as many schools as possible in Western North Carolina by the end of the year so that students who have been displaced, are financially challenged, and/or need a way to express themselves as they process the trauma will be able to do so.
